Dr. Joshua Bederson has always been an innovator. Early in his career as a neurosurgeon he thought about how if he could see into the brain, he would be able to plan his best approaches to removing tumors deeply embedded in the brain. He now operates with the assistance of 3D imaging both before AND during surgery allowing him to attempt surgeries that he would not have thought of attempting just a a decade ago.
