Mastectomies and reconstruction are quite common, but usually involve artificial breast implants. When Louise’s body rejected artificial implants, Mount Sinai had another option. As a professional dancer, at-one with her own body, she opted for DIEP fall surgery — essentially using her own body tissue for natural breast reconstruction. “It’s the best decision I ever made and have never felt or looked better!” She’s dancing once more and is looking and feeling fabulous.
